All proceeds from this event directly fund scholarships through the Youth 2 Leaders Education Foundation, helping students overcome financial obstacles to achieve their dreams of higher education

    It brings together music, food, art, wellness resources, and community pride—all in one vibrant, family-friendly event. The goal is to uplift diverse voices, foster connection, and empower our local community.

  • Yes! Culturafest takes place during Hispanic Heritage Month, making it an especially meaningful time to honor and celebrate Latinx contributions to our community through music, culture, storytelling, and education.

  • Culturafest is more than a celebration—it’s a community-driven fundraiser supporting the Youth 2 Leaders Education Foundation (Y2L), which provides college scholarships to local students, especially first-generation and underrepresented youth in Kern County.

    This event takes place during Hispanic Heritage Month, making it an ideal time to invest in the educational futures of Latinx youth.

    📊 Why it matters:

    • Only about 21% of Latinx adults in the U.S. ages 25 and older have earned a bachelor’s degree or higher (Pew Research, 2021).

    • That number drops to around 8% with a master’s degree, and fewer than 2% go on to earn a doctoral degree.

    • Latina women, in particular, are underrepresented in leadership roles, academia, and STEM fields—even when they have the qualifications.

    • Latinx students often face systemic barriers—such as limited financial aid, lack of mentorship, and being the first in their families to attend college.

    Through Culturafest, we’re working to change that.
